Running on the treadmill the other day, I thought: “Only 5 minutes left – its easy”; I automatically felt how hard it was. It got me thinking about the push pull idea, or every action has an equal and opposite reaction. So strangely, I thought being positive or thinking positively will also bring up negative feelings and thoughts – to compensate. Anyway the treadmill was easier when I didn’t think about anything at all. But I agree with you that the rollercoaster ride with the high highs and low lows is more interesting – I’ve always liked the William Blake quote: “the road of extremes leads to a palace of wisdom”. Maybe its about experiencing the ride without being caught up in the ride?
